The newest episode of “Harvesting the Great Plains” features segments on justice, Fresh Expressions and a history anniversary celebrated by United Methodist Women.

Host Jayna McFarland talks to the Rev. Kalaba Chali, conference mercy and justice coordinator, on how the Great Plains is living out the theme of this year’s annual conference sessions, “Seek Justice.”

She also chats with Shane Warta, conference lay leadership coordinator, about how Fresh Expressions is taking off in the Great Plains, including upcoming ways new people can become involved.

Communications director Todd Seifert contributes his story about a recent 150th anniversary celebration of the United Methodist Women last month in Lincoln.

Today, we are excited to have Bishop Ruben Saenz Jr., who is taking another tour of our 17 districts across Kansas and Nebraska — this time to speak with clergy about the importance of fully utilizing NETWORKS of churches throughout the Great Plains. We’ll hear from the Rev. Melissa Gepford about goals for her still relatively new role as the coordinator of intergenerational discipleship. And finally, Todd Seifert, our conference communications director, will drop in to share a story about a community that rebuilt after a catastrophic tornado.
